Nestling at the edge of the Pennines and the Peak District is Unsliven Bridge House. Originally a large Farm House. This property has now been converted into a luxury holiday cottage, retaining its original stone exterior, wooden beams and window seats. With many spacious rooms and plenty of outdoor spaces with enclosed garden and separate meadow, which has little don river meandering through its grounds. It is an ideal cottage for celebrating special occasions.

This characterful room retains its impressive original stone fireplace, which fills the living room wall floor to ceiling. Sit back and unwind on the comfy sofas in front of the fire. A quiet corner of the house to escape to after a family meal or on a winter evening, if you fancy a board game with family and friends or to read a book.

Whether you’re looking for a family or cosy room you will be spoilt for choice with 3 delightful bedrooms and bathrooms to choose from in this spacious cottage. 2 rooms have charming window seats nestled within the old stone walls. With all 3 bedrooms opening up into the eaves of the cottage, showing off the original oak beams, making them even more spacious.

Purple – Family room with kingsize and single with Shower Ensuite   

Green & Blue – King Size with shower En-suite     

All kingsize beds can be separated to make 2 small singles to suit individual needs.                                                   

 

Garden & Grounds

The garden is accessed from the side of the house and has stone steps leading to  the rear grassed garden which has picnic bench seating, gas BBQ and hot tub. There is ample space for young children to play and dogs with secure fencing and walls  all around. If older children require more space for their fun and games, they can venture down into the meadow where both sides of the river can be explored. Please supervise children at all times.

Local Walks on the doorstep

Stocksbridge is only a 5 minute drive away from the cottage.  Part of the steel industry, the town has an old steel factory dating back to 1842 which is still in use today. Stocksbridge also has a range of shops, café and restaurants and is home to Fox Valley retail park.

Across the road form the cottage is Underbank Reservoir. A lovely woodland circular walk around the reservoir of approx 3 miles. On route you will pass underbank activity centre who offer an extensive range outdoor activities and water sports such as archery, canoeing and abseiling. Booking is essential.  Also on route is The Olde Mustard Pot a traditional country pub which could be a perfect place to stop for refreshments and food.
